Franco-Tunisian tenor Amadi Lagha began his musical career by studying classical guitar and singing. He attended the Paris jazz conservatory  and the Sorbonne  from which he graduated with master  in Music and Musicology before perfecting his lyric singing skills in Alexandra Papadjiakou’s class at the Paris Conservatory.

He has won numerous opera competitions: 1st prize Michelangelo Cupisti for best interpreter of the 2017 season at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago; 1st prize, critics’ prize and melodrama prize at the Amandola Competition 2015; 1st prize at the Benvenuto Franci Competition – Opera Pienza 2015; 1st prize at the International Opera Voice Competition 2015 – O. M.E.G.A in Florence; 2nd prize at the 2015 Katia Ricciarelli International Competition in Verona; 2nd prize at the 2014 Maria Caniglia International Competition in Sulmona.

He has performed in numerous theatres in Europe and around the world, interpreting roles such as Rodolfo (La Bohème) at the Torre del Lago Festival, the Teatro Politeama in Lecce and the Metz Opera, Calaf (Turandot) at the Shanghai Opera, the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, the NCPA in Beijing, the Puccini Festival, the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, the Savonlinna Festival, the Opéra de Toulon…, Don José (Carmen) at the Arena di Verona, the Capitole in Toulouse, the Opéra de Marseille, the Savonlinna Festival and the Operas in Hanover and Leipzig, Radames (Aida) at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, the Opéra National de Montpellier and the Tirana National Opera, Manrico (Il Trovatore) at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Mario Cavaradossi (Tosca) at the Puccini Festival, Opéra National de Montpellier and Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, Don Alvaro (La Forza del Destino) at the Capitole in Toulouse, Gustav III (Un Ballo in maschera) at the NCPA in Beijing, Rodolfo (Luisa Miller) at the Parma Verdi Festival, Carlo VII (Giovanna d’Arco) in Modena and Reggio Emilia, Canio (Pagliacci) at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Turiddu (Cavalleria Rusticana) in Cagliari…

He has sung under the baton of internationally renowned conductors, including Gianpaolo Bisanti, Massimo Zanetti, Renato Palumbo, Kazushi Ono, Francesco Ivan Ciampa, Jordi Benaçer, Andrea Battistoni and Roberto Rizzi Brignoli.

His forthcoming engagements include Turiddu in Salerno, Dick Johnson (La Fanciulla del West) and Des Grieux (Manon Lescaut) at the Teatro Regio in Turin, Foresto (Attila) and Luigi (Il Tabarro) at the Tirana National Opera, Calaf at La Monnaie in Brussels, and Don Alvaro at the Opéra National de Montpellier.
