Adagio Artists meets the highest international standards in artist management by offering clients a firm of manageable size and a strong personal relationships.

Driven by a passion for opera, Bettina Funck-Brentano and Nicolas Grienenberger bring their extensive knowledge of voices and repertoire to the service of theaters as well of singers, whether well established or still in the early stages of their careers.

They are supported in their daily work by Odeta Hoxha who, after studying literature and management, works as a production manager for several music festivals, including that of Korçë with Inva Mula.

Bettina Funck-Brentano has a dual background in management (Oxford University BA and MA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and Insead MBA) and in music (vocal and opera performance). She is also fluent in English, German, Italian, and French.

After working for several years in the marketing department of France Télécom (now Orange), she founded Action Communication Finance, a financial communication and investor relations company, where her clients included Deutsche Bank, EADS, Crédit Immobilier de France, and GFI Informatique. In 2004, she took the helm of OIA-Organisation Internationale Artistique, the well-established artists’ management firm founded in 1948 by Michaël Rainer and subsequently led by the late Jean-Marie Poilvé. In 2017, OIA became Adagio Artists.

Adagio Artists represents some fifty artists and works with the most prestigious opera houses and orchestras in Europe, the Americas and Asia, where Bettina Funck-Brentano has developed strong expertise in working with Chinese artists and productions. In several countries, she regularly serves as a jury member in international singing and opera competitions.

Drawing on Bettina Funck-Brentano’s dual experience in both business and the performing arts, Adagio Artists offers a uniquely well-rounded range of services to artists, opera houses, orchestras and companies around the world.

Passionate about opera since  childhood, Nicolas Grienenberger has been playing the piano and singing since a very early age.

After studying Musicology and Artistic Management in Metz and Paris, he joined the Péniche Opéra team under the direction of Mireille Larroche before becoming Sabine Vatin’s assistant at the Théâtre du Châtelet for several seasons. There he worked on shows as exciting as “An American in Paris”, “Singing in the rain”, “Carmen Cubana”, and “42nd Street “.

He writes for Opera Magazine, and for nearly a decade his music criticism has been appearing online on several web sites: Resmusica, Anaclase, and Classiquenews.com.

Eager to work closely with artists, he joined Bettina Funck-Brentano in 2017 at Adagio Artists, where he actively advises and supports the firm’s clients.
