PIKULSKI Maciej

Maciej Pikulski stands out as a highly versatile and accomplished pianist, renowned not only for his impressive technical skills but also for his deep musical sensitivity. With a career spanning across the globe, he has performed in over thirty countries, captivating audiences on five continents. His expertise ranges from solo performances to chamber music, and from accompanying some of the most celebrated voices in classical music to playing with prestigious orchestras.

Having trained at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where he graduated with degrees in piano, chamber music, and vocal accompaniment, Pikulski's talent was quickly recognized. His formative years saw him becoming a laureate of the *Fondation France Télécom* and entering the Cycle de Perfectionnement in Paris.

His career as an accompanist took off when he was discovered by the esteemed José Van Dam, with whom he performed in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, La Scala in Milan, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. His exceptional collaboration skills were further honed when invited by Dame Felicity Lott and later by Renée Fleming, with whom he performed in venues such as the Musikverein in Vienna, the Salle Pleyel in Paris, and the Barbican Hall in London.

Beyond his partnerships with renowned soloists, Pikulski has established a distinguished solo career. His discography includes recordings of Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto, Schubert’s Lieder transcribed by Liszt, and a disc featuring works by Rachmaninoff and Chopin. His piano performances are lauded for their "powerful technique" (New York Times) and "poetic sensitivity" (Globe and Mail, Toronto), establishing him as a "magnificent musician" (Le Figaro).

In addition to his solo work, Pikulski is a sought-after chamber musician, having collaborated with an impressive roster of musicians, including Sonia Wieder-Atherton, Marc Coppey, and the Quatuor Debussy. His contributions to the world of chamber music and his close work with both instrumentalists and vocalists continue to be celebrated.

Pikulski’s artistry and reputation as a "great pianist" (Corriere della Sera) remain evident in his regular invitations to perform across Europe, Asia, and South America, as well as his performances with major orchestras across the world. His contribution to the classical music world is profound, and his continuing presence on stage and in the recording studio is a testament to his musical excellence and dedication.
