LAGHA Amadi

The Franco-Tunisian tenor Amadi Lagha began his musical journey by studying classical guitar and singing. He attended the Jazz Conservatory in Paris (17th district) and the University of Paris 8 from 2000 to 2006, and then honed his skills in lyrical singing from 2007 to 2012 in Alexandra Papadjiakou's class at the Paris Conservatory. He also obtained a Master's degree in Music and Musicology from the University of Paris 8 and enrolled as a doctoral student in the arts at the University of Paris-Est / Marne-la-Vallée until 2009.

He has won numerous opera competitions, including: 1st prize at the Michelangelo Cupisti Award for Best Performer of the 2017 season at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago; 1st prize, Critics’ Prize, and Melodrama Prize at the Amandola Competition 2015; 1st prize at the Benvenuto Franci – Opera Pienza 2015 Competition; 1st prize at the International Opera Voice Competition 2015 – O.M.E.G.A in Florence; 2nd prize at the Katia Ricciarelli International Competition 2015 in Verona; and 2nd prize at the Maria Caniglia International Competition 2014 in Sulmona.

He has performed in numerous theaters across Europe and the world, playing roles such as Rodolfo (*La Bohème*) at the Torre del Lago Festival, Teatro Politeama in Lecce, and the Opéra de Metz; Calaf (*Turandot*) at the Shanghai Opera, Palau de les Arts in Valencia, NCPA in Beijing, Puccini Festival, Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Savonlinna Festival, Opéra de Toulon; Don José (*Carmen*) at the Verona Arena, Capitole de Toulouse, Opéra de Marseille, Savonlinna Festival, and the Hanover and Leipzig Operas; Radamès (*Aida*) at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Opéra National de Montpellier, and the Opéra National de Tirana; Manrico (*Il Trovatore*) at Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari; Mario Cavaradossi (*Tosca*) at the Puccini Festival, Opéra National de Montpellier, and Deutsche Oper am Rhein; Pinkerton (*Madama Butterfly*) at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville; Don Alvaro (*La Forza del Destino*) at the Capitole de Toulouse; Gustav III (*Un Ballo in maschera*) at NCPA in Beijing; Rodolfo (*Luisa Miller*) at the Verdi Festival in Parma; Carlo VII (*Giovanna d’Arco*) in Modena and Reggio Emilia; Canio (*Pagliacci*) at Teatro Verdi in Trieste; Turiddu (*Cavalleria Rusticana*) in Cagliari.

He has worked with several internationally renowned conductors such as Gianpaolo Bisanti, Massimo Zanetti, Renato Palumbo, Kazushi Ono, Francesco Ivan Ciampa, Jordi Benaçer, Andrea Battistoni, and Roberto Rizzi Brignoli.

Among his upcoming engagements, he will perform Turiddu in Salerno, Dick Johnson (*La Fanciulla del West*) and Des Grieux (*Manon Lescaut*) at the Teatro Regio in Turin, Foresto (*Attila*) and Luigi (*Il Tabarro*) at the Opéra National de Tirana, Calaf at La Monnaie in Brussels, and Don Alvaro at the Opéra National de Montpellier.
